About the Author

Baba Lee, born Bryan Babin in the summer of 1968 in Missoula, Montana, discovered his passion for storytelling at the age of eight after watching Star Wars (1977). Inspired by the film’s scope and imagination, he wrote his first story shortly thereafter marking the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of writing.

He later studied Psychology and Cultural Anthropology in college, disciplines that shaped his understanding of human behavior, society, and survival core themes reflected in his work. During this time, he also developed a deep interest in environmental health. Though not formally trained in the field, he has spent years studying the subject independently and remains a strong advocate for renewable energy and environmental protection.

The idea for The Bullet Thief was born while working at the Tesla Gigafactory Nevada near Reno, where the stark landscape and industrial setting helped inspire the novel’s harsh, post apocalyptic world.
